artificial intelligence

AI is a powerful tool — when it's pointed at the right problems. At Lighthouse, we are deliberate about where we use it and transparent about where we don't, because patients deserve to know exactly what's guiding their care.

It starts with medicine, not algorithms

Every piece of content a patient hears through Lighthouse begins with medically reviewed material and accepted standards of care. When we assess patient status, we use those established clinical standards — not AI predictions. The foundation is always human expertise, peer-reviewed evidence, and guidelines from organizations like the ADA and AHA.

Medically Reviewed Content
All condition education is written and reviewed by clinical professionals before it ever reaches a patient. AI does not author medical content.
Accepted Standards of Care
Patient status is assessed using established clinical guidelines from professional medical bodies — not machine-generated conclusions or AI-driven assessments.

Smart delivery, not medical decisions

Personalized Education Programs
AI helps build education sequences tailored to each patient's health details and what's resonating across the Lighthouse population — similar to how Netflix surfaces movies you'll actually watch. The content itself is medically reviewed. AI decides the order and timing.
Voice-First Conversations
We use AI to transform written condition education into natural voice conversations delivered at the correct grade level. Patients hear clear, accessible guidance instead of reading clinical text they may not understand.
Content Relevance
AI helps surface the right article at the right time based on a patient's conditions, recent activity, and what's working for similar patients across the platform. Think of it as a recommendation engine for health education.

Lines we will not cross

No AI Diagnoses
Lighthouse never uses artificial intelligence to diagnose conditions or draw medical conclusions. Diagnosis belongs to your physician — period.
No AI Medical Recommendations
We do not use AI to recommend treatments, adjust medications, or make clinical suggestions. Those decisions are between you and your care team.
No Corner-Case Clinical Judgments
AI is often pitched as a tool for rare or complex medical decisions. Lighthouse operates in the central space of everyday lifestyle — diet, physical activity, taking your medications, and writing things down. We stay in our lane.

How we think about AI going forward

1
Transparency First
If we expand our use of AI in any way, patients and providers will always be notified. No silent changes to what guides your care experience.
2
Clinical Standards Lead
AI will never override or replace medically reviewed content and accepted standards of care. Technology supports clinical evidence — it does not substitute for it.
3
Right Tool, Right Job
We are constantly evaluating where AI can genuinely improve the patient experience. When we find the right application, we will implement it carefully and openly.
4
Patient Trust Is Non-Negotiable
Every decision about AI usage is filtered through one question: does this earn and keep patient trust? If the answer is not clearly yes, we do not ship it.

Lighthouse is voice-powered care built on clinical foundations. AI makes the experience smarter. Medicine makes it safe.
